Stoa is a distributed platform that allows users to buy and sell any data in a secure and decentralized way. The whole process is anonymous and does not require an identity verification. You simply need to start a node to become a buyer or seller within the System. Any user can exchange any type of data (documents, pictures, videos, etc). Data Exchange serves as a decentralized cross-horizontal hub for big data (Health Care, Finance, Public, Research, Retail, Marketing) and connects data providers from any industry to data consumers.
Ignite is a decentralized social network that allows everyone to share their mind freely via texts and media files. All posts are distributed via Ethereum blockchain and stored immutably in the distributed Data Storage. It is able to store necessary data and media for a period of 10-100 years. Being based on the BitTorrent File System, Ignite can not be blocked by any form of barrier or firewall.
There are several ways to sell the data within the Prometeus Data Exchange platform Stoa.
A user can select and upload data through any Data Validator via Data Owner client, or they can run their own Data Validator node and use it for uploads.

A user can select and access data through any Data Mart via Data Buyer client, or they can run their Data Mart node and use it.
When a user wants to access data, they will see data access terms such as price, access limits, etc. Once a transaction is confirmed, data becomes available for download.
Depending on the product or the desired services, a user might have to stake or spend a certain amount of PROM tokens.
For Ignite, basic services don't require to have PROM tokens, but the user may spend or stake PROM tokens to get access to expanded services.
From Stoa, users must have PROM tokens to share or access data on the network.
Each node in the system has its PROM token requirements to run it.

Who is the Data Owner?
Data Owner is the person or the company that has got some valuable data that he/she is trying to sell, monetize or share on the terms it thinks is right.
Who is the Data Validator?
Data Validator is an application which is responsible for aggregation and validation of the data from the Data Owners and provide it to Prometeus ecosystem. Basically it serves as a gateway inside the network for data.
Who is the Data Mart?
Data Mart node is an application which is used for acessingdata and proceeding it to the buyer. It also serves a way to navigate and filter data stored on the network
What Service Nodes do?
Service Node is a distributed application which acts as an intermediate layer between all the Roles within the System. Service Node uses a private Ethereum network + Ethereum Plasma under the hood: due to the requirement of providing large volumes of information to the clients the quickest way possible.
Service Node arranges the storage of encrypted data in a distributed data storage, and metadata in Ethereum blockchain.
Upon data uploading Data Validator commits payment which is distributed among Service Nodes via smart contract. Upon data purchasing Data Mart (see below) commits payment which is distributed among Data Validators and Data Owners via smart contract. Part of each purchase payment is kept by Service Node as a commissionary fee.
What Data Validator Nodes do?
Data Validator provides RESTful API and user interface for uploading data. The Node uploads data from Data Owners to the Prometeus network using the API of Service Node so that it can become available for purchase to Data marts. The payment for the storage of that data is charged at the moment of upload via the smart contract. Besides that, Data Validator Node makes initial encryption of uploaded data using the Data Owner's public key.
What Data Mart Nodes do?
Data mart node allows users to browse metadata (via special UI) and purchase any Data Owners’ data within the System using API of Service Node. Besides that, Data Validator Node makes final decryption of the data.
